Interface Management

Ematics believe that every project needs to adopt a systematic approach to its interface requirements, regardless of the numbers and quantities of interface parties. Starting with an Interface Management Plan (IMP), each interface is first identified and its initial requirements are mapped out for the all the associated properties of the interface, from the contractual to the physical and all properties in between.

Once identified, each interface is given a unique reference and a Detailed Interface Design (DID) document is produced, which will detail every aspect of the interface and its inter dependencies so that the needs and timescales of each interface party is clearly spelled out leaving no ambiguity.

Typical properties extracted by a Detailed Interface Design document would include:

  • Interface Parties Contact Details
  • Geographical Installed Location
  • Geographical Testing Location
  • Electrical Properties
  • Communications Protocols
  • Interface Timescales
  • Testing Requirements
  • Contractors Responsibility Schedule
